You look at your preforms and see those dreaded “cold spots” because your IR lamps aren’t pulling their weight equally. Then comes the fallout: uneven walls and bottles that burst. It’s a waste of plastic and a waste of your time. We built our replacement lamps to be simple, direct drop-ins that actually kill that variance. The truth about power matching A lot of shops try to save a buck by mixing lamp brands or throwing in different wattages. Big mistake. Even a tiny 5% difference in power across a heating zone messes with the PET resin’s viscosity. We stick exactly to the SIPA OEM specs for voltage and wattage. Why? Because it means every single tube in that oven is pushing out the same amount of infrared energy. One quick tip: if you’re running high-voltage setups, your reflectors take a beating. Keep them spotless. If they’re dirty, you’re basically throwing 20% of your energy down the drain. The gritty details: Quartz and Connectors We use heavy-wall quartz glass. It’s tough. It keeps the tubes from bowing when things get screaming hot. Plus, we use a halogen gas fill so the filaments don’t just burn out on you. As for the fit, we use standard R7s or Sk15 bases depending on how old your machine is. These are designed for the “breath” of the machine—that constant expanding and contracting as you start and stop. They stay tight. No loosening, no arcing, no surprises when you hit full temp.
