If you plan to use an electric heater outdoors, choose units rated for damp locations and check the IP rating—typically IP34 or higher—so the electronics stay protected from light rain and splash.
Why this works where you need it

What to keep in mind
Infrared heating is immediate, but it doesn’t “fill” a room the way a convection heater does. For the best results, position the unit within a few feet of where you sit and keep it clear of furniture and curtains. Radiant heat warms what it shines on, so objects in the beam will feel warmer than the air a few steps away—that’s normal. If you’re sensitive to bright light, pick a model with a low-glare element or place the heater slightly off-axis. And as with any electric heater, don’t run it off an undersized extension cord; use a dedicated outlet to keep voltage stable and prevent heat buildup.
